Wattle Flat Campground - Styx River State Forest

 

Address:  Turn onto Armidale-Kempsey Road from Waterfall Way.  Drive approx 20 mins and then keep an eye out for signs to Wattle Flat. Turn here and then the camping area is 9 kms.  Follow the signs as State Forest roads change from time to time.

Wattle Flat Campground is a gorgeous open area in the State Forest next to the Styx River.  There are no designated sites and plenty of fire pits to go around.  This area is accessible for 4WD only and only small camper trailers. The campground may not be accessible in wet weather as the road can be slippery.  There are no facilities here.  This is a little beauty.
