The Musgrave Roadhouse is a great stop on your way up or down to the tip of Cape York or if you are just exploring the region.  There is a large open grassy area where you can set up anywhere you like.  There are hot showers and flushing toilets, water is available and dogs are permitted.  There is also a bar and restaurant and a shop to buy some essentials including fuel.
